Don’t miss Cutlass Supreme at the Stork Club in Oakland Friday, April 15th. These guys are as good as when they were playing regularly ten years ago, and I am told they have a ton of great new material, so come check it out at O-Town’s friendliest venue!
I also gotta mention my excitement for a show at Slim’s on April 20th: Big Light, opening for the Bridge. I know little about the headliners (“jam band” from Baltimore?), but Big Light are local heroes with an amazing huge sound that fans of Dinosaur jr. and Neil Young should find attractive.
And I think it might be a mistake to miss next Monday’s show at the Fillmore. Headliners Tame Impala are mildly interesting but once again it is the opening act that is the draw for me: Yuck, who sounded like something very special (in a raunchy electric-guitar kinda way) based on the couple of tracks shared by Joe at the last Music Night.
